Philogene's Season-Ending Injury
The worst news came when McKenna confirmed that winger Jaden Philogene won't be playing for Town again this season. After a specialist consultation, it was confirmed that Philogene has an MCL injury.
"It's not looking good for him," McKenna said. "He's out for the season. It's a massive blow for us and for him. It's another setback in the right winger position - we've already lost Wes Burns to an ACL injury and Chiedozie Ogbene to an Achilles injury."
"It's a tough break for Jaden, who only joined us late in the game. He's been working hard and giving it his all here at the training ground."
Delap and Hutchinson Missing, Chaplin Ready to Roll
Omari Hutchinson (hamstring) and Kalvin Phillips (near Achilles) will both miss the Arsenal clash, while star man Liam Delap is a doubt. Delap has trained but McKenna is still unsure about his availability.
"I can't say he's 100% yet, but he's training. We'll make a decision about him closer to the game."
"Omari's still not back with the group, so we have to be careful with that one. Kalvin's not training either."
Chaplin Set to Return
On a positive note, Conor Chaplin, who has been out with a knee problem, is ready to make a comeback. McKenna praised Chaplin, saying he's training well and is an important part of the team.
"He's back and he's ready to go. It's never easy to come back from a long-term injury, but if anyone can do it, it's Conor. He's training great and he's eager to contribute."
