The victory marked Chelsea's fifth Premier League win of the season, a significant improvement from their earlier struggles. At the start of December, Chelsea were trailing champions-elect Liverpool by just three points.
After the game, Maresca shared his thoughts with the press. He was happy with the way his team performed in the second half, saying it was a much-needed improvement.
"I'm very happy with the win," Maresca said. "We deserved to win the game, but it wasn't easy. We started strongly, but conceded a goal early on. In a match where we needed to win, it was tough for the players.
"However, in the second half, we made some tactical changes and it paid off. We were more dynamic, especially with Malo Gusto playing in a new position. He's been performing well for us since the start of the season, and the second half was a big improvement."
