Slot acknowledged that the team's rehabilitation efforts have been successful, but emphasized that it is difficult to replicate game-like conditions.
"Isak will resume training with the team after three weeks out," Slot said. "However, three weeks of rehab is not enough to bring him back to his previous level."
Slot urged fans to be patient with Isak, who missed pre-season training with Newcastle United after a disagreement with the club.
Isak suffered an injury during Liverpool's win over Eintracht Frankfurt and has been sidelined for four matches, allowing fellow summer signing Hugo Ekitike to take his place in the lineup.
Ekitike has scored six goals and provided one assist in 15 appearances, and is likely to start up front for Liverpool again in the upcoming match.
The team needs to win to stay in the title race and close the gap with Arsenal, who are currently six points clear.
