Dembele's spell at Barcelona was marked by injuries and uncertainty due to the club's financial struggles. However, he has since overcome these setbacks and played a key role in PSG's Ligue 1 title win and Champions League final appearance.
With 33 goals and 48 assists in all competitions this season, Dembele is also in contention for the Ballon d'Or award, alongside Raphinha and Lamine Yamal.
Former Barcelona technical secretary Robert Fernandez has reflected on what went wrong during Dembele's time at the club, citing a lack of patience from all parties involved.
"No one was patient - neither the press, nor the club, nor Dembele himself, who was still young and learning," Fernandez said.
"That's the reality. But Dembele has shown us all what he's capable of. He proved himself to be a great professional, even after two serious injuries and a difficult environment."
"He's doing very well now, and it's a slap in the face to those who doubted him. I'm happy for him, and I think he's a great kid who has overcome incredible challenges."
