Anfield's pitch measures 101m, falling short of the required size. This decision is a significant blow to the city of Liverpool.
Old Trafford will not host games due to ongoing development plans and the stadium's age. Manchester United plans to build a new 100,000-seat venue, but this project will not be completed until after the tournament.
The Emirates stadium, home to Arsenal, will also not host games due to redevelopment plans. The current 60,700-seat capacity will be upgraded to over 70,000, but this will not be ready in time for the tournament.
Each of these stadiums will miss out on hosting Euro 2028 games for different reasons that cannot be resolved before the tournament begins.
