Yoon Do-young joined Brighton in March last year on a five-year contract worth around £2 million. He previously played for Daejeon Hana Citizen, a South Korean football club, where he made 33 appearances and scored once, while assisting his teammates four times.
As a condition of the league, Yoon Do-young mainly played in the first half of Daejeon Hana Citizen's matches. This allowed him to gain experience and develop his skills as a young player.
Technical director David Weir commented on the loan deal, saying that it was part of their original plan for Yoon Do-young to spend his first season on loan. He believes that this opportunity will help the young player grow and adapt to the demands of playing in a top European league.
David Weir added that Yoon Do-young's priority this season is to settle into life in Europe and establish a strong foundation for his future success at Brighton.
Brighton's manager, Fabian Hurzeler, is investing in young players like Yoon Do-young, who is expected to make a significant contribution to the club's future success.
